That Yarn Store

Welcome to That Yarn Store – an ongoing evolution of quality retail since 1989. Begun with knitting machines (with hand work on the side) in the Tri Valley and a brief 6-year stint to the East Bay. The move back "home" in 2006 was a great time to refocus, change name and relish in all the new fibers. A spacious, well lit local-focus store for knitting, crochet, machine knitting and spinning has been well received in Dublin.

An extensive and eclectic staff allows TYS to offer a wide variety of skillful guidance in hand knitting, crochet, spinning, knitting machines as well as a spacious selection and setting to relax and work the yarn. Add to that our specialty non-staff instructors and we can accommodate most of your fiber-based interests.

An extensive schedule of structured "learn how"classes as well as specialty topics require pre–registration, but many impromptu gatherings for learning, shared interests and outreach are also planned. The "Sit and Socialize" table always has chairs open in front of the windows.

The very quiet existence of an entire section for spinners is thanks to a very enthusiastic new staff member. Rovings, silk hankies, and drop spindles are currently available, with more to come. Gathering time for spinners will be scheduled very soon.

We have a lending library of yarn based books – including authors Debbie MacComber, Maggie Sefton , and Kate Jacobs.
